Overview

The Garmin GDL 50 (and the GDL 5X series) is a portable ADS-B receiver and GPS. It wirelessly streams high-precision GPS and attitude (AHRS) data to the Garmin Pilot application. In addition to streaming, the portable GDL 5X units feature an internal flight data logging capability that can be accessed via USB for upload to FlySto.

How it works

Downloading Flight Data Log (GDL 5X Portable Only) The GDL 5X portable series features a flight data logging function that stores data directly on the unit.
  1. Connect the GDL 5X to a computer using a Micro-USB cable.
  2. Navigate to the device drive on your computer.
  3. Locate the log files in the "Garmin\Logs" directory.
  4. Upload these files to FlySto.
